The atelier is not a showroom. It is a working room with poor light, deliberately — Giovanni finishes surfaces under a single tungsten lamp because daylight flatters and lamplight interrogates.
Objects sit unfinished for weeks. Some are abandoned. Some are cut apart and rebuilt into something the original sketch never anticipated.
Visitors come by appointment, one at a time. There is no schedule, no seasonal calendar and no press day. There is only what is currently on the bench.
“One bench. One lamp. A drawer of hardware collected over twenty years.”
