THE OBJECT
GHIACCIO is the archive in white. A low silhouette embossed edge to edge, then buried under crystal and steel until the surface reads as frost rather than leather.
THE MATERIALS
- Embossed white Italian leather
- Hand-set crystal swoosh
- Conical polished steel spikes
- Crystal-wrapped laces, engraved metal plates
- Translucent iced sole unit
THE PROCESS
The upper is embossed by hand, bleached back, and left unsealed. The swoosh is set stone by stone; spikes are driven from the inside out along the toe, quarter and heel. Laces are wrapped in crystal chain and clamped with engraved plates. The sole is cast translucent and left icy.
